I am a PhD candidate in English at the University of Pennsylvania specializing in postcolonial studies and the Global Anglophone, as well as twentieth-century literary history. I study and write about the aesthetic experiments and intellectual debates of intersecting twentieth-century internationalisms, and contradictions of race, gender, and capital across the Anglophone world in the time of decolonization. Related interests include the long 1960s, Marxist aesthetic criticism, modernist internationalism and peripheral realisms, and the theory of the novel. I am also pursuing a graduate certificate in gender and sexuality studies.

From 2021-23, I convened Latitudes, our working group on empire, race, and the Global South. I have also taught or assisted courses on the postcolonial and Global Anglophone novel; British literature from Windrush to Brexit; race, immigration and diaspora; South Asian and Caribbean fiction; law and literature; and the history of the book. I was named the John Lewis Haney Graduate Fellow in English for 2021-22.

Before graduate school, I worked at independent and scholarly presses and digital archives including Columbia University Press, Boston Review, and the South Asian American Digital Archive. I hold a B.A. in English from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, and an M.A. in English from Villanova University.
